South Konawe, SE Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno assisted in improving the internet network in the Moramo Waterfall tourism area, Sumber Sari Village, Moramo Sub-district, South Konawe District, Southeast Sulawesi.
"No waiting around, no long-winded stuff, no slacking, I will task Mr. Indra Ni Tua (Director of Destination Governance at the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry) to contact the joint tower provider (TBIG), Telkomsel, and other operators right away," the minister stated in South Konawe on Friday.
Uno instructed the director of destination governance at the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, Indra Ni Tua, to coordinate with internet network providers to bring about improvements in the Moramo Waterfall area as one of the top 50 tourist attractions out of the 3,500 tourist attractions.
However, he expects regional governments to support their measures as well, so that these attractions could gain greater recognition, thereby drawing more tourists from overseas.
He deemed the Sumber Sari Tourism Village of Moramo Waterfall as a complete tour package owing to the conservation aspect as well as new and renewable energy sources through the use of micro hydro sources of energy for electricity.
He expressed pride since the Sumber Sari Tourism Village in Moramo District was able to rank among the top 50 best tourist villages in Indonesia.
Uno noted that this demonstrated the commitment of everyone to work in a unified manner to rise and create business and job opportunities.
"No waiting around, no long-winded stuff, and no need to issue proposal. We immediately contact (the relevant entities) to strengthen the signal here, so that when the ladies are taking selfies, they can upload it fast," he stated.
Head of the Southeast Sulawesi Tourism Office, Belli Harli Tombili, admitted that the internet network at the conservation tourism object was indeed problematic due to which tourists visiting the place were unable to share the moments right after taking pictures.
"So many who come here want to upload it on Instagram and on Facebook, but it becomes difficult, and you have to go downstairs first before you can get the internet signal," he pointed out.
Hence, assistance to improve internet network would greatly help the tourist attraction to progress.
"Thank God, the minister really cares about tourism, and if we communicate about any aspects with him, those will definitely be replied to, especially with his current style of visiting tourist villages that are in the top 50 to revive tourism actors and also the government is enthusiastic again, motivated to build tourism in the area," Tombili concluded.
