Kendari, SE Sulawesi, Jan 29 (Antara) - Privately-run low-cost carrier Lion Air is set to serve a Muna-Makassar flight route everyday starting early February 2017, an official said.
"God willing, in case of no hindrance, as of early February, Muna residents who wish to travel to Makassar and other cities in Indonesia or the other way around can go by air," Muna district head LM Rusman Emba said here on Sunday.
The opening of the Muna-Makassar flight route will make Muna more popular among people from various regions in Indonesia, he said.
The flight route will have an impact on economic growth which will eventually promote the local people`s welfare, he said.
He said national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia also plans to serve the route everyday.
