Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (Antaranews Sultra) - South Korean investors, grouped in the Korean Association of Pothonic Industry Development, have expressed interest to invest in the renewable energy sector in the Southeast Sulawesi provincial capital of Kendari.

The investors met with Deputy Mayor of Kendari Sulkarnain and regional secretary Alasmyah Lotunani here on Wednesday to affirm their keenness to invest in the city of Kendari.

"Kendari is believed to receive ample sunlight throughout the year, so investors from South Korea have chosen the city to invest in solar cell-based renewable energy," Sukarnain remarked after welcoming the group of investors on Wednesday.

Sulkarnain noted that during the meeting, South Korean investors elaborated on their potential and competence to invest in the renewable energy sector.

In addition, the investors have offered several programs and their products in the field of development of other forms of renewable energy.

"On behalf of the Kendari city government, we are grateful and pleased with the information and interest shown by the investors from South Korea. We will further study their proposals and evaluate how the investment will benefit us," Sulkarnain noted.

According to Sulkarnain, the investors also invited officials of the Kendari city government to South Korea to visit their company and learn first-hand about their renewable energy projects that have been operating.
