Kendari, SE Sulawesi,  (Antaranews Sultra) - PT Bank Sulawesi Tenggara (Sultra) reported a significant growth in net profit to Rp190 billion in 2017 from Rp164 billion a year earlier.

"The profit after tax grew from Rp164 billion in 2016," the Marketing Director of the bank, which is owned by the provincial administration, Devid said here on Wednesday.

Devid said the rise in the profit would increase the dividend the government could receive, adding the bank has grown strongly from year to year.

In 2017, the bank began the construction of a new building a 14-floor Bank Sultra Tower in the Kendari city center at an estimated cost of Rp120 billion.

The construction is expected to be finished in two years and part of its rooms will be rented out, he said.

He said the bank had assets valued at Rp6.2 trillion by the end of 2017 or up from Rp5.7 trillion in 2016 and Rp4.4 trillion in 2015 showing the bank has performed well over the past three years growing by 4.9 percent.
