Kendari, SE Sulawesi, Antara Sultra - The government of Southeast Sulawesi Province is building a special port as a form of commitment to support the area`s tourism sector next year.

Local Transportation Office Chief Hado Hasina has remarked in the provincial city of Kendari that the special tourism port is being built in Konawe District and will soon be completed to support tourism on Bokori Island.

Hasina stated that the completion of the port will ease both local and foreign tourists keen on visiting Bokori Island, which is being developed into one of the mainstay tourist destinations in Konawe District, Southeast Sulawesi Province.

With its scenic beauty, warm waters, and white sandy beaches, Bokori Island is an ideal getaway in the province for tourists and local residents to unwind.

"The beauty of the tourist attractions in the province, especially in Bokori island, should be supported by facilities and ease of access; hence, we are building the special tourism port," Hasina affirmed.

On completion, he said before crossing aboard a ferry boat to Bokori Island, the visitors will be able to avail facilities, such as a rest area and also a culinary area at the port.

Bokori is an exotic island located at the edge of the Bay of Kendari, and the beauty of the island will be immediately visible once the visitors reach the mouth of the bay.

According to Hasina, Bokori Island is scenic and serves as one of the main tourist destinations after Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi.
