Kendari, SE Sulawesi, April 10 (Antara) - The Kendari municipal government in Southeast Sulawesi Province has urged visitors to the mangrove ecotourism areas in the city to maintain cleanliness.
"The beauty of the mangrove ecotourism areas will be lost if they are littered with trash. Hence, let us maintain cleanliness together," Mayor of Kendari Asrun remarked here on Sunday.
Kedari has mangrove ecotourism areas in Lahundape, Purirano, and Bungkutoko along the coast of Kendary Bay that are currently becoming leading tourist destinations.
The Kendari municipal government has recently inaugurated the three mangrove ecotourism areas, and this time, they continue to attract several visitors from the city of Kendari and beyond almost every day.
Witnessing an increase in the number of visitors to these three mangrove ecotourism areas, the Kendari municipal government is currently involving the local communities in managing them.
Asrun noted that the Kendari municipal government will continue to improve the supporting facilities of the mangrove ecotourism areas in order to make them more attractive to tourists.
"Our efforts to develop and promote the mangrove ecotourism areas here will be futile if there is no awareness among all parties to keep them clean," the mayor of kendari affirmed.
