Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, July 28 (Antara) - At least 41 units of yacht that will take part in the Sail Indonesia 2016 to be held in Karimata, West Kalimantan, will enter the Wakatobi waters of Southeast Sulawesi starting early next month.

Chairman of the Indonesian Tourism Association (Aswindo), Hugua said the convoys of tourist boats will enter the Wakatobi waters via Kupang of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Sangihe of North Sulawesi.

"The luxury boats to enter the Indonesian waters via Sangihe will come in convoy from Singapore and those via Kupang are from Australia," Hugua said here on Wednesday.

The convoy entering via Kupang would take the route of Samlaki, Banda and Wakatobi to proceed to the waters of Buton, Bombana and Selayar in South Sulawesi.

From Selayar, they would proceed to Karimata to take part in the peak of the Sail Indonesia festivities before returning to their respective countries via Singapore.

The ones entering the Indonesian waters via Sangihe would leave Karimata taking the route of Samlaki, Banda, Wakatobi, Bombana, Selayar and Kupang to proceed to their respective countries via Australia.

"In each regency they pass, the convoys would be received with cultural shows by local people," Huqua said.

Chief spokesman of the Wakatobi district administration La Ode Ifi said the Wakatobi district administration and the people have been ready to welcome the convoys that would visit that district early next month on their way to Karimata .

"The Wakatobi administration has prepared the Marina harbor, specially to serve luxurious boats to take part in the Sail Indonesia 2016 ," La Ode said.

He said the special quay for luxurious boats could accommodate up to 500 boats.
