Kendari, SE Sulawesi, Nov 11 (Antara News)- Vice President Jusuf M. Kalla has cancelled his plan to officially open the Nusantara Royal Palace and the ASEAN`s Adat (Customary) Community Festival here, on November 12, 2015.

"The Governor (of Kendari) is waiting for confirmation on the possibility that the vice president`s secretariat might appoint a minister to open the festival," Kusnadi, a spokesman of the Southeast Sulawesi administration, said here, Wednesday.

Earlier, Damsid of the festival`s organizing committee, said on Tuesday that the festival will be held until November 15.

Some 143 Indonesian kingdoms and eight foreign kingdoms will participate in the festival.

The festival will include activities, such as a cultural exhibition, an art and cultural performance, a culinary event, a cultural carnival, and a seminar on culture," he noted.

In the exhibition, several kingdoms will display items of their royal collection, such as weapons and royal costumes.

In the meantime, Singapore, Pakistan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the Netherlands have confirmed that they will send their representatives to the festival.

Some 20 kings/queens from five foreign countries will take part in the festival, he stated.

From Indonesia, the participants will include sultans or kings and queens from the sultanates or kingdoms of Surakarta (Yogyakarta), Tabanan (Bali), Cirebon (West Java), Buton (Sultra) and Tidore (North Maluku).

The 9th Nusantara Royal Palace Festival was organized in Bima on Sumbawa Island, West Nusa Tenggara Province, in September 2014.

Some 1.5 thousand participants from 82 kingdoms and sultanates from across the archipelago and Selangor state in Malaysia took part in the event.

Next year, the Nusantara Royal Palace Festival will be organized in Pangkalan Bun, West Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan.

Early this year, the 14th Sultan of Cirebon Arief Natadiningrat announced that Cirebon, which is located in West Java Province, will host the Nusantara Royal Palace Festival in 2017.
