Wangi-Wangi, SE Sulawesi, Aug 23 (ANTARA News) - Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro is scheduled to witness an underwater mass wedding event in the Sombu village beach, Wangi-Wangi subdistrict, Wakatobi district, Southeast Sulawesi on Wednesday.
Wakatobi District Head Hugua confirmed here on Tuesday the minister`s schedule to witness the event which would be held as part of the Sail Wakatobi Belitong (SWB) 2011.
"The minister and party arrive this afternoon aboard of the Air Force`s Fokker 28 airplane," Hugua said.
He said that a total of 30 couples would take part in the underwater mass wedding, consisting of 26 local couples and four foreign ones. All are divers.
"The divers will immortalize the memories of their marriages underwater through the SWB 2011 event," Hugua said.
