Wangiwangi, SE. Sulawesi, Dec 1 (Antara) - A film on biodiversity in Wakatobi Marine National Park, Southeast Sulawesi province, will be aired on a number of private television stations in the United States.

"Currently, we are shooting the film on biological diversity, capturing life underwater around Tomia," coordinator of filmmaking, Cris Steev, said here on Tuesday.

According to him, the filmmaking team uses super-advanced diving equipment which can reach depths of up to hundreds of meters.

The underwater world in the Wakatobi National Park has high biodiversity and is very attractive, Steev noted.

Through the cooperation with Wakatobi district administration, the film producer will sell the Wakatobi`s underwater biodiversity movie to a number of television stations in the United States.

It is expected that the movie, which will be aired through the US television stations, will help attract tourists from the United States and other countries, especially underwater world lovers, to visit Wakatobi.

Wakatobi is also the name of the national park established in 1996, on a total area of 1.39 million hectares. The park is basically a marine biodiversity hotspot known as Wallacea and has coral reefs.
